80 x 80 cm, Mixed mediaIn “Love Vibes,” Devin Miles brings together two cultural icons: Snoopy holds a heart with a Louis Vuitton pattern, while Woodstock, sporting sunglasses, strolls through an ornate text field that clearly references Robert Indiana’s famous LOVE lettering. The lettering was designed in 1964 as a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art and became one of the best-known emblems of Pop Art. Indiana combined the visual clarity of typographic design with a subversive play between consumer aesthetics and spiritual message. Miles takes up this dialectic and translates it into his own visual language between luxury, nostalgia and urban statement.
